Layne Riggs won the Allegiance 200 at Nashville Superspeedway early Saturday morning, his second straight NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory. He stole the trophy from Rajah Caruth on the final lap, rebounding from lost track position on pit road in an intense battle for the win. The race was supposed to take place solely on Friday, but bled over past 1:00 a.m. EST due to a rain delay.
“I hope I put on a show for you guys,” Riggs said. “I didn’t want to fall back, I don’t know what happened with that set of tires but it was literally undriveable.”
Riggs is now a three-time winner in the 2026 season, the most in the Craftsman Truck Series. Almost 25 years ago, Riggs’ father Scott Riggs won the Truck Series race at Nashville after leading 131 laps. Layne fell just short of that mark by his father, leading 99 out of 150 circuits.
Final Stage Cautions

Initially a mainstay in the top-five, Kaden Honeycutt’s race turned disastrous on Lap 116 when his truck lost power. The No. 11 Tricon Garage Toyota Tundra was unable to coast all the way to pit road, causing a caution with Rajah Caruth in the lead. Honeycutt entered the race as the points leader, but is now 37 points behind Riggs in second.
Caruth maintained the lead on the restart, with Ross Chastain emerging behind him in the No. 45 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet. After winning each of the race’s first two stages, Layne Riggs found himself buried in traffic after losing positions on pit road late in the going. He mounted a hard charge toward the front at the end, surging ahead of Caruth and his FRM teammate Chandler Smith just in time.
Another yellow flag flew with 22 to go due to a loose wheel just past the entrance of pit road. Ben Rhodes’ No. 99 ThorSport Racing Ford F-150 was almost in the clear when the wheel separated from his truck as he passed the commitment line. Rhodes received a two-lap penalty for the incident.

On the ensuing restart Chastain was almost able to seize the lead from Caruth, but the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet proved too quick to clear. Chastain soon gave way to Chandler Smith, whose No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford came alive in the final stage of the race.
Smith quickly began running down Caruth, who just one year ago had to fend off a similar offensive from Corey Heim and Layne Riggs. In the final ten laps of the race Caruth attempted to repeat his defensive masterclass from last year, but came up just short. He finished second for Spire Motorsports, while Smith finished third with Chastain fourth and Tyler Ankrum fifth.
“I was trying to make this thing as wide as possible,” Caruth said. “Obviously on the tire disadvantage. But that was a great call by Brian [Pattie, crew chief]. I think we were strong, just starting in the back obviously with no qualifying kind of impacted our night. We got the truck really strong in there, I just needed…I don’t know, there’s probably some things I should’ve done better there.”
