Layne Riggs and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team captured their fifth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win of the year in the TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday. Starting on the pole and leading 198 out of 200 laps plus winning both stages, it’s the 10th career win for the Bahama, North Carolina driver in just his 70th career start.

“Man what a truck, I was on cruise control there for so much of the race,” Riggs said. “The No. 7 [of Connor Mosack] kept me honest at there at the end those last 15ish laps in traffic. I was running as hard as I could and I couldn’t get away from him, but I knew we had a pretty good gap there, great job from my spotter to help me navigate through traffic.”

The two laps not led by Riggs were led by his Front Row Motorsports teammate and the previous week’s winner Chandler Smith. Smith would go onto finish fourth and become the third driver this year to clinch a chase spot. Christian Eckes and Gio Ruggerio also clinched, making five drivers locked in along with Riggs and Kaden Honeycutt.

The majority of the night was incident free, until Lap 138 in Turns 3 and 4 when the No. 19 of Daniel Hemric spun after making contact with the No. 13 of Cole Butcher, collecting the No. 45 of Landen Lewis. Both drivers were checked and released from the infield care center during the ensuing red flag. The restart came at Lap 145 with the final 55 laps running under green.

Spire Motorsports finished with two trucks inside the top five, with Mosack finishing second and Nick Sanchez’s No. 77 Chevrolet coming home fifth. The second highest finishing Ford was Ty Majeski of Thorsport Racing in third, with the highest finishing Toyota being Stewart Friesen in sixth. Eighth-place finisher Gavan Boschele earned a top-10 in his series debut in the No. 1 for Tricon Garage behind teammate Kaden Honeycutt, who placed seventh.
