Timmy Hill will be entering the NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway on March 22 with Garage 66, the team announced on Tuesday. This will be Hill’s first Cup Series race entry of the 2026 season.
Presuming their car qualifies into the race, this would be Garage 66’s second start of the year. The team fielded the No. 66 Ford for Casey Mears in the Daytona 500, in which Mears qualified against tough odds. Mears finished 32nd, the team’s best finish in the Daytona 500 since 2020. Mears was one of seven drivers who started races for Garage 66 in 2025, as was Hill.
Timmy Hill’s Career with Garage 66
This year, Timmy Hill is is the second driver to climb into the No. 66 car. Currently Hill competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Hill Motorsports. Each year since 2017 he’s been an occasional Cup Series entrant for Garage 66, which also operates under the name MBM Motorsports.
The best finish of Timmy Hill’s career so far is a 14th-place run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017 driving for Garage 66. All three of Hill’s top-20 finishes in the Cup Series have been with Garage 66 and team owner Carl Long.
Finding a Sponsor

Primary sponsorship for Darlington will be provided by Auto Direct USA, Garage 66 announced on Wednesday. This came after a post from the team seeking potential suitors to support their upcoming entry
“Auto Direct USA joined our program at a great time last year, coinciding with our team’s best finish of the season,” team owner Carl Long said. “They open their 2026 schedule with two historic tracks in Darlington and Talladega that are beloved by fans. Our team looks forward to continuing to add more races with Auto Direct USA as the year progresses.”
“Our partnership with Garage 66 has been a great opportunity to introduce Auto Direct USA to the NASCAR audience in the USA,” added Auto Direct USA President Andrew Riggs. “After a strong debut with the team last season, we’re excited to expand our involvement in 2026 and continue building our brand alongside Timmy Hill and the No. 66 team. NASCAR’s passionate fanbase and national television exposure provide a great platform for us as we continue growing our vehicle export business between Canada and the United States.”
