UPDATE: Sigma Performance Services Racing has put out a release on their website addressing the news.
“Recent Announcement were made regarding the termination of the SPS planned NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program participation. While SPS’s participation in this program was halted effective January 28th, 2026, SPS will continue to support the smooth and effective transition of this competition program in full cooperation with AM Racing,” stated the release.
Team Owner Joe Farré also spoke in the release, saying the team is still working on their ARCA and late model programs, and still has plans to relocate to their new facility in North Carolina soon.
“We are proud of the work that we did in assembling an incredible team of people, resources, and technical partners, and we are confident in the integrity of that plan and the people involved. We are working closely with the AM racing leadership group to support the smooth transition of these operations, and we are confident in their ability to deliver the quality and integrity of the plan and to deliver the results that this team of partners deserves,” Farré said.
ORIGINAL STORY:
After being reported as sold in late 2025, AM Racing announced today that they have plans to return to the track in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for the 2026 season. The team made a post on their X page today confirming the news.
“In November of 2025, an acquisition of AM Racing was announced. While the transaction ultimately was not finalized, AM Racing will move forward independently and remain committed to competition in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series,” the post started.
“The organization will build upon its existing foundation for the upcoming season, with driver and team announcements forthcoming,” it finished.
So it seems the deal from Sigma Performance to purchase AM Racing hit some issues. AM will announce more at a later time.#NASCAR | #NOAPS https://t.co/diO6WcGxWo

Back in October, Harrison Burton had announced his departure from the team to join Sam Hunt Racing’s second car. He and AM Racing came home 12th in NOAPS standings in 2025 with two top-fives and 10 top-10s.
The following month, it was announced that Sigma Performance Services Racing was purchasing AM Racing and was set to compete in the 2026 NOAPS season. Sigma was set to add from its late-model and ARCA development programs and jump into the second-tier NASCAR touring series.
As of now, there are no other details available for AM Racing and their plans, with Daytona just two weeks away.
