Defending Formula One world champion Lando Norris of McLaren scored his second win of the season in the final Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. The win streak for the English driver advances to two after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix back on July 26.
“Amazing. A tough race,” Norris said, postrace. “Yesterday I said we needed to put on a bit of a show for everyone for the final race here, so I made it tough for myself today but (it was) a good race, well fought. Probably one of my better wins; we had to fight for it well but the pace was strong. We managed things incredibly well so over the moon, very happy. Nice to win the final race here in Zandvoort.”

Heavy rain showers were a concern in the early morning, the weather inevitably cleared up around 25 minutes before lights out.
Norris began the race at the pole position over the Mercedes-AMG duo of George Russell and point leader Kimi Antonelli. The race would then be halted after one lap when Max Verstappen lost the rear of his Red Bull Racing car and hit the wall heavily. The Dutchman was able to climb from his car and was okay.
When action resumed, Antonelli overtook Norris for the first spot and began a lead of his own. That was until the last half of the race when Norris made up ground and retook the position past the Lap 50 mark during pit stops, building up a gap as a high as 6.8 seconds.
Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton finished outside the podium in fourth, now tied for second in the point standings with Russell at 183. The seven-time world champion expressed frustrations during the race when trying to catch Norris’ teammate Oscar Piastri, with his own teammate Charles Leclerc not moving alongside.
Liam Lawson scored a top-10 in his return to Red Bull this weekend after Isack Hadjar suffered a wrist injury and was unable to participate. Lawson wheeled the No. 30 to a seventh place run on Sunday.
