Alex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing Win Portland Grand Prix

Alex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing conquered the field in the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland at Portland International Raceway for his third overall win at the track and sixth of 2026 in the NTT IndyCar Series. Palou led 60 out of 110 laps en route to victory, marking another seemingly effortless performance from the defending series champion.

“Everybody at CGR and Honda did an incredible job, I had an absolute rocket ship today,” Palou said post-race. “They give me the best guys around me.”

The No. 60 of Felix Rosenqvist for Meyer Shank Racing finished in the second spot after scoring the pole and leading the second most laps at 33. Rosenqvist crossed the line just over five and a half seconds behind Palou. The Swedish driver leaves ‘The Beaver State’ sixth in the standings with four top-five runs.

“Some stints we were really competitive, the last stint we really just didn’t have much for [Palou],” Rosenqvist said. “It’s always annoying when you have a shot at it and you don’t make it.”

Finishing third and earning a podium finish was Will Power for Andretti Global, who stayed out one lap later during the final thirty laps before making his green flag pit stop. He hoped to at least catch Roseqnvist for second, but was unable.

“We certainly lost a lot on that next lap because we were battling with some back-markers,” Power said. “I think I would’ve had a reasonable shot at Rosenqvist, but not at the win at all.”

Other notable finishers included Rinus Veekay who finished fourth for Juncos Hollinger Racing, as well as Power’s Andretti Global teammate Kyle Kirkwood who rounded out the top five after early contact with the wall heading into Turn 10. Kirkwood now sits just 110 points behind Palou in the standings.

Another tough day came for David Malukas, as he was given a penalty on Lap 11 for blocking Alexander Rossi heading into Turn 3. Malukas wound up with a 12th-place run with the opportunity to close the points lead growing thinner.
