Beginning in 2026, The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team will have a new identity: TRG Haas F1 Team
Toyota Gazoo Racing (TRG) entered into a strategic technical partnership with Haas F1 Team last year after a hiatus from the Formula One grid that lasted almost 15 years. Since their return, Toyota successfully launched the Testing of Previous Car (TPC) program through their partnership with Haas, a program that has allowed the team to gain valuable insight while being mindful of strict testing rules from the sanctioning body.
The success of the alliance, which began as a way to lend technical, design, and manufacturing support to the American racing team, has morphed into something larger, even leading the way to
“The cultivation of personnel, all working collaboratively between Haas F1 Team and TGR has benefitted us greatly and that’s something that will only increase as our partnership matures,” said Haas F1 Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. “We’re excited to further grow with the likes of our driver program too, and it’s been encouraging to see the depth of talent TGR is backing in that process.”
Beyond expanding their pool of talent to pick from, this partnership is also expanding what’s possible when trying to achieve optimal performance on-track. In addition to the TPC program, the duo is consistently looking at innovative ways to enhance their performance, including installing a state-of-the-art racing simulator in the team’s Banbury facility.
This strengthening deal further solidifies Toyota’s involvement within a global motorsports space and positions itself for a potential return to the Formula One grid as an engine supplier.
