PRESS RELEASE – KANSAS CITY, MO — Dystany Spurlock’s groundbreaking 2026 season hits another milestone Saturday as she debuts in the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR’s premier developmental division, at Kansas Speedway.

Earlier this year, Spurlock became the first Black woman to compete in the ARCA Menards Series East—the sport’s regional platform. Now, she takes the next step up NASCAR’s competition ladder with her first national-series start, adding another first to her breakout campaign.

Spurlock heads to Kansas Speedway for the Tide 150, making her first start in national series competition at the 1.5-mile tri-oval—the third race of the series’ 20-event schedule. The debut marks a significant step in her progression toward a long-term goal of competing in the NASCAR Cup Series.

“I have dreamed of this moment my entire life,” Spurlock said. “Standing on that starting grid will mean everything, not just for me, but for every little girl who has ever looked at a racetrack and dared to imagine herself behind the wheel. We are just getting started.”

Driving the No. 66 Foxxtecca Chevrolet for MBM Motorsports and Garage 66, Spurlock enters with momentum from the ARCA Menards Series East. She finished seventh in her debut at Hickory Motor Speedway on March 28, then followed with a 12th-place run at Rockingham despite losing laps early due to a window net issue. Through two starts, she’s tied for fifth in the East standings.

Her move to the national series reflects the dedication, focus, and performance that have gotten her to this stage.

“Dystany Spurlock’s debut in the ARCA Menards Series is a great milestone in her racing journey,” said Brandon Thompson, NASCAR’s Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. “She has earned this opportunity through her talent and determination, with strong performances at Hickory and Rockingham Speedway, and we are proud to have her on the track. We’re excited to see what she accomplishes as her career continues to grow, including her upcoming start at Kansas Speedway.”

Beyond the track, it’s a defining moment for the sport itself, expanding visibility and opening doors for the next generation of drivers who now see a path forward in racing.

Kansas City will host a pair of events on April 16 to honor the occasion. A press conference at Victory Ford will bring together civic and industry leaders to formally recognize Spurlock’s achievement. An invite-only welcome party to celebrate with the team will be held that evening at Pitchside Coffee.

Spurlock’s season is also being documented by her management team and primary sponsor Foxxtecca in a docuseries titled Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR. Based in Detroit and co-founded by Chris Harris and Kellie Crawford, Foxxtecca is an experiential media and events company operating at the intersection of mobility, culture, and technology. It connects the automotive industry with new and diverse audiences through storytelling, education, and live experiences.

“From the first time we connected with Dystany six years ago, we knew she was something special,” Harris said. “Foxxtecca is proud to stand behind a competitor of this caliber, a human being of this character, and just someone we consider a unicorn. What she is doing extends far beyond motorsports; she is opening doors that will never close again.”

Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CT / 12:30 p.m. ET. It will air on FS1 and stream via the FOX Sports app.
