23XI Racing will be entering Corey Heim into 12 NASCAR Cup Series races this year, the team announced on Friday. Heim, who is not running full-time in any NASCAR series for 2026, will drive the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE as a part-time fourth entry for 23XI.

The selection of tracks where Heim will compete appears to draw from his experience in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Out of the ten total tracks where he is slated to run, Heim is a Truck Series winner at five. He’ll enter each Cup Series event at Daytona International Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“I’m excited and honored to continue my progression with 23XI,” Heim said. “Every driver wants to race as much as possible, but I’m fully committed to the approach that I am taking with the team. I look forward to more Cup races this year and the opportunity to grow and expand my race-craft on and off the track.”

Though he’s entered for 12 races, Heim is not guaranteed a starting spot. As a non-chartered entry, the No. 67 team could be sent home if there are more than 40 entries on any given weekend. They’ll have to beat several other open teams for their first scheduled start of the year: the Daytona 500 on February 15.

A Budding Star

2026 seems to be something of a transitional year for Corey Heim. Many see him as a favorite to go full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series next year. The 23-year-old was historically dominant in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2025, winning a record 12 races and the championship for Tricon Garage.

“We know the future is really bright for Corey, and we’re working with him to ensure that he is as prepared as possible when his time comes to race full time,” said 23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin. “We’re continuing to stick to our plan and taking a long-term approach, while also remaining focused on what is collectively best for our organization and our partners as we look to continue being a competitive, winning organization each weekend.”

To build on his commanding 2025, Heim will also run a select number of Craftsman Truck Series races this year for Tricon Garage. So far, the only confirmed race in that arrangement is EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta on February 21.

Acclimating to the Cup Series

Going into 2026, Heim already has some Cup Series experience to his name. He raced three times for Legacy Motor Club and 23XI Racing in 2024, before again running four races with 23XI in 2025. The best finish Heim has had to date is a sixth-place run at Bristol Motor Speedway in September.

“Corey’s development with the team has been impressive and we appreciate his patience and trust in us to prepare him as best as possible,” added 23XI Senior Competition Director Dave Rogers. “He has not only been a great student but has also provided valuable feedback to our team that has helped us grow. We’re looking forward to more races with him this year as he continues to sharpen his skills.”

Robert ‘Bootie’ Barker will serve as Heim’s crew chief this season, 23XI Racing said in their release. Barker worked with Heim in four Cup Series races last year, and before that he did three full seasons with Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 team. To balance out a very promising young driver, Barker carries the wisdom from 25 years of total experience as a NASCAR crew chief.
