23XI Racing has announced that Corey Heim, reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion and the team’s development driver, will compete full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for the organization in 2027.

Heim has raced in nine Cup Series events with the team, including this year’s Daytona 500. The 23-year old from Marietta, Georgia is currently running a part-time 12-race schedule in the No. 67  Toyota Camry XSE, where he will make his fifth start of the season at Nashville this upcoming Sunday.

Since becoming a member of Toyota Racing back in 2020 where he competed in the ARCA Menards Series, Heim has made waves in every series that he has stepped foot in. Perhaps none greater than the Truck Series up to this point, where he has earned 25 wins in the division, including a 12-win championship season in 2025.

“Since I was five years old, all I ever wanted to be was a Cup driver,” Heim said. “I’ve been blessed to have support from so many people along the way. I can’t wait for the 2027 season to begin.”

Team president Steve Lauletta and team co-owner Denny Hamlin also expressed the same excitement for the move, noting the rapid growth 23XI Racing has been building since the teams inception back in 2021.

“Corey is truly a special talent that we have enjoyed watching grow and develop over the past several years,” Lauletta said. “He has already been a valuable member of the team as our development driver, and we’re eager for his Cup Series career to begin next season; We look forward to 23XI’s continued evolution with Corey behind the wheel full time.”

“We’re excited to welcome Corey to our full-time roster next season and look forward to watching him race every weekend in 2027,” Hamlin said. “Corey is a gifted driver who is continuing to get better and better with each race he runs. He has a bright future in the sport and joins a team that is continuing to build a solid foundation. We’re thankful to Riley for all he has done to help get the 35 team going and appreciate the work that he and the team will continue to do this season to be competitive each week.”

The current driver of the third seat belongs to the No. 35 of Riley Herbst, who has been the team since the 2025 season.
