Blaine Perkins will pilot the No. 24 Toyota GR Supra for Sam Hunt Racing in the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. 2027 will be the first season of a multi-year deal.

“It’s a dream come true to have the opportunity to race for SHR and Toyota,” said Perkins. “I can’t thank my sponsors and supporters enough for helping make a longtime dream of mine into my new reality.”

Perkins is a veteran journeyman of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Part-time seasons for Our Motorsports in 2021 and 2022 led to the opportunity to continue full-time in 2023 following his release from SS-Greenlight Racing. Following one season at RSS Racing, Perkins moved to the No. 31 for Jordan Anderson Racing, where he has driven since 2025. In 137 starts, Perkins has earned six top-10s.

About Sam Hunt Racing

It will be an all California-born lineup for SHR in 2027 with Perkins in the No. 24 and Sheldon Creed in the No. 26. SHR has been full-time in the O’Reilly Series since 2021. Their first two seasons saw the No. 26 as a rotational entry between various different drivers. In those two seasons, the team earned three top-5s, all with John Hunter Nemechek behind the wheel.

In 2023, the organization expanded to two full-time entries. Kaz Grala was hired to drive the No. 26 full-time while Connor Mosack ran a majority schedule in the No. 24. For the next two seasons, SHR would shrink back down to one entry with Dean Thompson joining the organization full-time in 2025 to pilot the No. 26. Now, this season, the No. 24 made its full-time return with Harrison Burton behind the wheel. With Burton moving to Peterson Racing Group, the No. 24 opened up for Perkins.

“We’re extremely excited to have Blaine join the SHR family and continue his development with us into the future,” said Sam Hunt, Owner and President of Sam Hunt Racing. “He’s a great person, has experience in these cars, and is extremely motivated to take the next step as a driver. We are excited to embed him into our culture and give him the tools and resources he needs to be successful both on and off the track.”

An All New Jordan Anderson Racing

“We want to thank Blaine for two years of hard work, true professionalism, and all the great memories we’ve shared,” Jordan Anderson Racing said via X. He has made a real impact on our organization, and it’s been a privilege working together. We wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward with this next chapter in his career!”

With Perkins moving to SHR and Jeb Burton moving to RSS, there will not be a returning full-time driver at Jordan Anderson Racing. The team will have at least one full-time driver, as Daniel Dye is confirmed to the No. 32. Rajah Caruth or Andrew Patterson, who have driven multi-race schedules in the No. 32, could run a full season if the financials make sense.

Fellow O’Reilly journeymen Brennan Poole and Ryan Ellis are both confirmed free agents. Additionally, drivers such as Patrick Staropoli and Anthony Alfredo do not have 2027 plans set in stone.
