A.J. Foyt Racing announced on Wednesday that Dennis Hauger, the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, has signed a multi-year deal to drive full-time for the organization beginning in 2027. Hauger will pilot the No. 14 Chevrolet with sponsorship from ‘Home For Our Troops’.
Hauger competed in the No. 19 for Dale Coyne Racing in his rookie campaign and finished 22nd in points with a best finish of eighth at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Before his transition to American open-wheel racing, the 23-year-old spent time with the Red Bull Junior Team, winning races and championships in Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3. The resume from both overseas and the United States caught the attention of team principal Larry Foyt.
“Dennis has accomplished a lot for someone who is only 23,” Foyt said in the press release. “Every time he’s moved into something new, he’s adapted quickly and won. Coming over here and winning in INDY NXT as a rookie certainly caught everyone’s attention, and then we watched how he progressed through his rookie season in IndyCar.”
“I’m really excited about it, Larry and I have had some very good conversations about the team and where they want to go,” Hauger said. “I’ve learned a lot in my first two years of racing in America, but I still feel like there is a lot more for me to learn and accomplish in IndyCar.”
The driver from Oslo, Norway will take the seat from Santino Ferrucci, who has been with AFR for the past four seasons with 69 starts and a best points finish of ninth in 2024. Ferrucci’s 2027 plans are not known at this time.
