Career Stretch for Kyle Sieg Continued at Las Vegas

Kyle Sieg has been full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series since 2023. The 25-year-old from Tucker, Georgia, has driven for the family team of RSS Racing for nearly all of his races. So far, his seasons have looked similar to each other. One top-10 on a superspeedway, a handful of additional top-20s, and a points finish in the mid-20s.

In the Regular Season, it appeared 2026 would be more of the same. In the opening 24 races, Sieg earned one top-10 at EchoPark Speedway and seven top-20 finishes. But as the Chase started, so did a career-best stretch for the driver of the No. 28.

Career Stretch

The first race in this impressive stretch began at Darlington Raceway where he placed better than three Chase drivers. This includes the, at-the-time, points leader Justin Allgaier, to earn a 16th-place finish.

“We consistently improved the car with each run and it felt really good by the end of the race and ended up with a 16th place finish,” Sieg posted on Facebook following this race. “I am very proud of the team and happy with our progress and performance over the last few races.”

A few races later, Sieg had a stand-out performance at Gateway. A dramatic race saw the Georgian finish 9th-place on pace. This result was not only his first top-10 on a non-drafting track, but it also meant that the 25-year-old would have multiple top-10s in a season for the first time.

“(I’m) very proud of our 28 team for all of their hard work and dedication,” Sieg posted on Facebook following Gateway. “It’s nice to reward them and all of our supporters with a strong race and great finish. It’s been a fun few weeks.”

A pair of 20th place finishes at Bristol Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway followed. Notably, the team overcame a penalty to earn the fourth consecutive top-20 at Las Vegas.

Looking Forward

In the six races since the O’Reilly Series “summer break”, Sieg’s worst finish is only 21st-place at Daytona International Raceway. This combined with a 12th-place result at Iowa, his best ever on a short track, means that the 25-year-old has considerable momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Two of the next three tracks the series races at (Charlotte Motor Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway) yielded top-20 finishes in the spring. Additionally, Sieg has back-to-back 21st place finishes in the fall race at Martinsville Speedway and had a strong 12th-place result in the 2025 finale at Phoenix Raceway.

If all the cards fall right, and the momentum and speed of the No. 28 team continues, then Sieg could go seven-for-seven in top-20 finishes during the Chase. He has already moved from 25th to 24th in the standings during this stretch, and sits less then 30 points out of 22nd-place. If the 25-year-old can make up those points, he will match his best career points finish.
