Bristol broke a lot of hearts this weekend, and so did the unreliable parts of NASCAR’s Gen 7 car.
Once again, a non-championship contender captured a win in the playoffs. In his 250th career start, Chris Buescher became the season’s 19th different winner.
12 of the 16 playoff drivers went through issues during the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. The Toyota drivers saw plenty of mechanical issues while the Ford’s saw major tire issues, mainly with the tire debris getting caught in the wheel well leading to fires. Between these issues, controversial calls to leave the race, and inconsistent caution calls, NASCAR had a bit of a mess on their hands after this one.
