We might be reaching the end of the season, but that doesn’t mean NASCAR officials are slacking on a break in the rules.
According to the sanctioning body, the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing team was penalized under Section 5.5 of the NASCAR Rule Book, which requires competitors to race at 100% of their ability and takes action against competitors who intend to “artificially alter” the race’s finishing positions. This penalty was a costly one as they were handed a fine of $100,000 and docked 50 drivers and owners points.
Tune into this episode of Above The Yellow Line to discuss the penalty, potential silly season news from 23XI Racing, and to preview the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
