FedEx Freight will take over as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series beginning in 2027, NASCAR announced Thursday. They’ll take over for Craftsman who’ve been on board since 2023.
A potential agreement between NASCAR and FedEx Freight was first reported by The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi in late August. 2027 will be the second consecutive year in which one of NASCAR’s three national series changes title sponsorship; O’Reilly Auto Parts took the reins from Xfinity for the second-tier series at the start of this season.

Though the exact length of the agreement has not been announced, a release from NASCAR describes the partnership as ‘long-term’. Beginning with next year’s season opener at Daytona International Speedway, the series will be officially called the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series.
The deal that brings FedEx Freight to NASCAR makes them an Official Partner of NASCAR. They will also be NASCAR’s exclusive freight shipping partner in the United States, Canada, and Mexico beginning on January 1, 2027.
“FedEx Freight choosing NASCAR for a brand investment of this magnitude says a lot about where our sport is today and the value our platform can deliver to businesses looking to grow,” said NASCAR SVP and Chief Commercial Officer Craig Stimmel. “And there may not be a more natural pairing than FedEx Freight and the NASCAR Truck Series. […] As they continue to establish their identity as an independent company, we have an incredible opportunity to put that brand in front of millions of fans while creating real business value throughout the NASCAR industry.”

FedEx Freight began as one division of the larger FedEx Corporation. Alongside Express, Ground, Logistics, and Office, it was one of the company’s specialized operating units. That was until June 1, 2026 when FedEx Freight formally separated from its parent company and became an independent entity.
“Some partnerships just make sense,” said FedEx Freight President and CEO John Smith. “As FedEx Freight moves forward in its next chapter as an independent company, we are focused on opportunities that strengthen our brand and support our long-term growth strategy and we are confident the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series will deliver.”
Craftsman was the first Truck Series title sponsor starting when the division was founded in 1995. It stayed on board until 2009, at which point Camping World took over. From 2019 to 2022, Camping World’s subsidiary Gander Outdoors took over title sponsorship. Craftsman returned in 2023 and stayed for four years.
