Several NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series cars sustained damaged in a bizarre stack-up at the entrance of pit road at World Wide Technology Raceway on Saturday. Against all odds, The CW’s broadcast reported that no pit crew members were injured.
On Lap 48 the field rolled down pit road at the conclusion of Stage 1. William Sawalich appeared to possibly slow down in front of traffic as he turned toward his stall, creating an accordion effect that reverberated several cars back.

Rajah Caruth’s No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro SS was the first car to get out of line after he was hit from behind by Nick Sanchez. The latter driver’s No. 87 Chevrolet swung around and collided with Brent Crews’ No. 19 Toyota GR Supra during a pit stop.
Jeremy Clements was sent head-first into the driver’s side of Sanchez’s car, pushing both he and Crews’ cars toward the pit wall. The No. 19 pit crew was nearly slammed into by Sanchez’s car, and one tire carrier even had a tire knocked from his grip.
According to The CW Sports, a litany of drivers were involved in the crash beyond Caruth, Clements, Crews, and Sanchez. Others included Anthony Alfredo, Harrison Burton, Jeb Burton, Brandon Jones, Ryan Sieg, Patrick Staropoli, and Dean Thompson.
Somehow only two drivers were eliminated at the moment of the wreck: Nick Sanchez and Harrison Burton. Both cars were crunched hard in the pileup, sustaining race-ending damage. Clements was caught nine laps down once the field went back to green, and Anthony Alfredo lasted only a handful more laps before a flat left front tire carved significant damage into his Viking Motorsports Chevrolet.
“The last thing I saw was the No. 88,” Sanchez told The CW Sports. “I tried to stop the best I could and feel like I got hit from behind and lifted up in the air. I don’t know what happened, it’s just super unfortunate.”
