Brad Keselowski issued a warning to Carson Hocevar on Sunday, following the conclusion of the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. The two were involved in an incident on Lap 107 where Hocevar spun Keselowski’s No. 6 RFK Racing Ford in Turn 4.
“He ran into me,” Keselowski told ATYL Media as he walked away from pit road. Asked if there was a history between the two that preceded their run-in, Keselowski said, “there will be”.
“His day’s coming and it’s coming hard,” the 42-year-old promised. “Watch out Carson.” Keselowski looked directly into the camera for that last warning.
Told minutes later about what Keselowski said, Carson Hocevar showed no concern. “I’ll tighten my belts,” he said. The 23-year-old then said the contact was not intentional.
Further questioning by other media outlets, Hocevar didn’t provide much more analysis. “I don’t know, it looked like he spun,” he said via Motorsport. Later in the evening, Hocevar added a six-percent sale on his merchandise store for six hours, a not-so-subtle joke about the night’s incident.
Carson Hocevar is currently 12th in the Chase standings, 89 points behind leader Denny Hamlin. The No. 77 Spire Motorsports team is already an underdog in the championship hunt, but their odds could dwindle further if Keselowski (who’s not in the Chase) chooses one of the next nine races to settle the score.
Sunday’s incident was not the first time Keselowski and Hocevar clashed on-track. In August 2025 Hocevar apparently slowed in front of Keselowski during the latter’s qualifying lap at Watkins Glen International. After each driver’s laps concluded, Keselowski ran to Hocevar’s pit stall for a heated confrontation.
